Exercise, Exercise, Exercise.
Maybe like some of you out there, I among countless other women out there have struggled with weight loss. For me weight loss was more than just being prettier, or feeling more confident. It was about the long term benefits, the waking up and feeling healthy, the ‘not waking up tired’ effects.
For a long time I shamed myself into not eating, later leading to overindulgence. Soon I’d spend almost 10 years stuck in a vicious weight gain/loss cycle where I began losing confidence and trust in myself. If tell myself, “today’s the day we make changes” only to fall back into my old habits not even a full day later.
For me, accepting that I wanted to lose weight to look better felt cathartic. I’m not saying skinnier people look better than bigger people. Since many of my ‘assets’ stemmed from my weight gain. I just knew that personally I loved how my body felt when my butt was tight and lifted, my arms and legs toned and sculpted. Like those old Grecian Statues.

I’ve included a cute printable if you’re interested in joining me yourself! This workout is for beginners and people who need low-impact exercise routines.

Starting with the Basics of Weight-loss
Alright, let’s get to the heart of this. The core main ingredients to maintaining a healthy lifestyle are Exercise, Healthy Eating, Reducing Stress, and Living with Intention.
I think many of us could admit that STRESS is a huge contributor to when weight fluctuates. There are studies that show, higher levels of stress contribute to hormonal changes that are not good for the body. 1
Although stress can be harmful, utilizing stress to our benefit in turn leads to better resilience. 2 Exercise is a major indicator for reduced stress levels, paired with meditation, mindful eating can help in reducing negative stressors.
Building Better Eating Habits
If you’re like me then eating health is the biggest challenge after exercise. As someone who prides themself as a ‘Foodie’ I know the best restaurants and flavors a girl can taste.
Making the conscious effort to choose whole grain rice, over white rice and opting for white meats over red/salted meats has been a huge help in my daily changes. Reading the sodium and sugar levels on Nutrition Labels has greatly reduced my grocery spending as well as my unhealthy snacking habits.
Although I’m not one for wasting food, by grabbing smaller portions and going back for more later, I have already lost 2 pounds, around 1 kg. Visit the link below if you’re interested in learning more about a balanced plate!
Closing Thoughts
Exercise and eating healthy play a major role in weight-loss, but are not the only contributor. I am no weight-loss expert, but I can tell you eating those bags of chips, enjoying that Costco Chicken-Bake, and eating mindless because your bored, will definitely lead you down the wrong path.
For me, eating healthier starts with a WHY, why do I want to improve my eating habits? What influence or future am I trying to create? Really think deeply about your reasons and internalize that to motivate you. Create systems to better help you to stick to healthy living.
Just remember, try your best and you got this.
